I recently had a Sunday lunch experience at Tyrrells Ford, and I must say it started off on a high note with a warm welcome from Sarah, the owner. The service was friendly and attentive, but the food quality left much to be desired. While some dishes were enjoyable, others were underwhelming and definitely not up to par. The ambiance has a charming old-school feel, but the decor could use a refresh to match the excellent service we received.

I didn't stay overnight, but from what I saw, the dining area and public spaces had a charming character, albeit a bit tired.
Service
8.0
Service was of a good standard, with attentive staff eager to help throughout our meal.
Location
7.0
The venue feels set away from the bustle, providing a tranquil dining experience, though the exterior could do with some sprucing up.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience varied greatly, with some dishes like the treacle tart being delightful, while others were sadly lacking in flavor and freshness.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities are functional, but many aspects seem dated and in need of a lift for a better overall impression.

I had a lovely stay at the hotel, enjoying a delightful Sunday lunch that featured beautiful food and generous portions. The staff were welcoming and took great care to ensure everything went smoothly. The room was a bit dated but clean and spacious, offering a charming touch. However, the plumbing could use some attention, which was a slight downside. Overall, it was a pleasant experience in a lovely garden setting.

I had mixed feelings about my visit. While the location is stunning and the atmosphere relaxing, the dining experience left much to be desired. I found the food quality disappointing, and the service could have been better. However, the friendly bar staff was a highlight and made the visit a bit more enjoyable.

My room had a lovely balcony overlooking the patio and garden, though I felt it could use some renovation.
Service

Service wasn't the best; the waitstaff seemed to be going through the motions, but the barman was genuinely friendly.

The quality of the food was disappointing. My steak and ale pie felt more like soup than a proper dish, and the other meals were just okay.

The hotel has great potential with its inviting interior, but it needs a bit more upkeep.

My stay at Tyrell's Ford was a mix of delight and a few disappointments. The cleanliness and ambiance were standout positives. However, the rooms were a bit tired, and I struggled with the heat during my stay. Dining was decent but not exceptional, and breakfast left a bit to be desired. Overall, a cozy spot with potential, but it could use some updates.

Rooms

The rooms were clean and well-maintained but felt a bit outdated and very hot, which made it hard to sleep.

I had a lovely family meal here and truly enjoyed the warm hospitality from the owners, Mark and Sarah. The food was fantastic and freshly sourced, but I did notice some inconsistency in quality during my visits. Overall, this place seems to have the potential to be a great dining spot, but there's room for improvement in maintaining food quality and service consistency.
